Margaret “Meg” Harrington
Meg enjoys a multi-faceted practice comprising construction litigation, Homeowner Association matters, premises and liquor liability, medical malpractice, personal injury, business litigation, and insurance contract and coverage issues. Additionally, she counsels professionals with the North Carolina Professional Licensing Boards. Based in the firm’s Wilmington office, Meg was named one of North Carolina’s top 20 construction litigation attorneys by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly in 2024. A veteran attorney licensed in North Carolina, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Meg brings over 25 years of professional experience to the firm.
A zealous advocate for her diverse client base, Meg devises customized strategies to help them achieve their business goals. With her extensive courtroom experience, Meg has handled numerous cases from inception through jury trial and verdict. Understanding that a successful outcome looks different for each client, she is an accomplished negotiator who skillfully guides her clients to settlement when appropriate.
In addition to her law firm experience, Meg taught college-level courses in Pennsylvania on several topics, including business law, civil litigation, communications, marketing, paralegal studies, and microeconomics. Influenced by her law practice, her teaching style emphasized independent thinking, writing, and speaking.
A North Carolina State University graduate, Meg earned her law degree from Widener University School of Law and her Master of Laws in trial advocacy from Temple University School of Law. Meg, an active member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, is the Vice Chair of their Women Litigator Group. Additionally, she enjoys a legacy of volunteering, devoting her time and support to various local charities. Meg is also a Certified Philadelphia County Arbitrator and was a Judge Pro Tempore for the Complex Litigation Center in Philadelphia County for five years before relocating to North Carolina.
