Summer Associate Program

The Summer Associate program at Barnwell Whaley provides us the opportunity to identify individuals who have great potential for exceptional legal careers and who can deliver meaningful contributions to Barnwell Whaley and to our clients, and the communities that they serve. Barnwell Whaley’s Summer Associate Program is designed to give law students exposure to the many facets of the firm’s practice in a short amount of time.

During the program, our Summer Associates are actively involved in our cases, conducting meaningful research and writing assignments, and working closely with the supervising Attorney preparing for and participating in conferences, depositions, mediations, trials, and other court proceedings. We monitor regular work assignments to ensure that Summer Associates have the opportunity to work on multiple projects with a variety of Attorneys in different practice areas. It is our objective that each Summer Associate will have gained a working knowledge of Barnwell Whaley and our expectations for new Attorneys once the program has ended.

Upon completion of the program, Barnwell Whaley as a firm will have gotten to know the Summer Associates and will then take the opportunity to consider each Summer Associate for a position with our firm after they finish law school and pass the Bar.
