Samuel Person is an associate in the firm’s civil litigation group, focusing his practice on trucking and transportation law matters. Sam was a law clerk for Barnwell Whaley before joining the firm as an associate in 2023.
While in law school, Sam won several CALI Awards, made Dean’s List all six semesters, and was a Presidential Honors Scholar. As a Moot Court Board Member, Sam competed as an oralist in the Brooklyn Law School Evidence Competition and wrote a top 5 brief in the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Competition. He was also a member of the Trial Advocacy Board. Sam earned his Bachelor of Arts at Furman University, where he was a member of the football and track and field teams.
Sam is a dedicated outdoorsman and enjoys fly fishing, hunting, and golf. He is a life member of Trout Unlimited – Saluda River Chapter and a Ducks Unlimited – East Cooper Chapter member. A member of the Charleston Library Society, he is also a voracious reader of historical fiction and biographies.
