Phillip practices in the areas of workers’ compensation, alternative dispute resolution and mediation, appellate practice, civil litigation, construction law, insurance coverage, insurance defense, liquor liability, personal injury, products liability, professional malpractice, real estate and development, subrogation and collections, toxic torts, and trucking and transportation.
He holds an AV Martindale-Hubbell rating, representing the highest level of professional excellence, and served as an editor of the 2015 South Carolina Bar Association Deposition Procedure Handbook, a concise reference manual of a deposition’s procedure in South Carolina and a go-to resource for lawyers during both depositions and trial.
Prior to entering private practice, he served as an intern with the Honorable Robert S. Carr, Federal Magistrate Judge for South Carolina. Ferderigos also served as an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law, where he taught legal writing and research. Ferderigos is also certified as a Civil Mediator with the South Carolina Board of Arbitrator and Mediator Certification.
As an undergraduate, he was a Harrison Randolph Scholar, a Top Honor Graduate, a member of the Honors Program (outstanding student and department honors) and winner of the Alumni Junior Medal. While in law school, Ferderigos was a Merit Scholar, a member of the Order of the Coif, and the Society of the Wig and Robe. He received the coveted CALI (formerly AMJUR Excellence) Award in the areas of constitutional law, property, torts, substantive criminal law, and interviewing, counseling and negotiating. He was also a member of the South Carolina Law Review and served on the South Carolina Moot Court Bar where he represented the University of South Carolina in the 1997 Wagner Labor Law Moot Court competition.
A native of Charleston, Phillip grew up in the restaurant business where he learned all aspects of running a business and getting multiple jobs done. He applies the same lessons in his representation of his clients.
