CHARLESTON, SC – Barnwell Whaley welcomes attorney David S. Cox as a Member of the firm, practicing in the areas of business litigation, products liability, trade practices, intellectual property and media. Previously, Cox practiced as a Partner attorney at Womble Carlyle and as a Principal at Buist Moore Smythe McGee P.A. law firms in Charleston.
Cox brings more than 20 years of practice experience to Barnwell Whaley, having practiced at the aforementioned merged firms since his graduation from Duke University School of Law. “As Barnwell Whaley attorneys have been serving and counseling businesses and professionals since 1938, it seems only fitting to bring in David with his extensive experience counseling businesses in South Carolina, particularly in the areas of complex commercial litigation. A native of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Cox earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University, graduating cum laude and with highest honors at the Murphy Institute of Political Economy. He earned his Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law and is admitted to practice before the South Carolina Courts, the United States Court of Appeals of the Fourth Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
