As an associate attorney at Barnwell Whaley, Alissa Fleming advises and represents a broad range of clients primarily in the areas of professional practice and liability, employment law, and civil litigation. As a nurse attorney, Fleming has litigated all types of matters, including professional liability matters involving the defense of physicians, nurses, attorneys, and other professionals, hospitals, nursing homes, residential and nursing care facilities, as well as medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, in a variety of matters at the administrative, state, and federal court levels. In the area of employment law, Ms. Fleming handles matters on behalf of employers in the areas of contract disputes, wrongful termination, harassment, and discrimination. She also has experience drafting documents such as employment contracts, compensation agreements, and employee handbooks. In addition, she advises her clients on situations involving discipline, investigations, and terminations.
